Reading One: The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction

Question One:  Section III:  Is the article saying any form of reproduction will distort the aura of an image perceived in person?  And is there any form of reproduction that could capture the depth exactly as is, with three dimensional technology now?

Question Two:  Section IV:  Couldn't the function of reproducing a work of art merely be considered as a way to project to the world the message that piece is portraying instead of "the total function [being] reversed..." from ritual to politics, as the article says?
